About the Color Thief from URL

The Color Thief from URL by Grab-Kit is a free online tool designed for frontend developers, UI/UX designers, and digital marketers. When building a new project or analyzing competitor design systems, extracting the exact brand colors used on a website is crucial. Manually inspecting elements and CSS files to find hex codes is incredibly tedious. Our tool automates this process by scanning the website's source code (inline styles, CSS variables, meta tags, and SVGs) to find and count all color occurrences.

Using the tool is incredibly straightforward. Paste the URL of the website you want to analyze into the input field above and click "Steal Colors". The tool fetches the HTML and parses it, ranking the most frequently used colors. It filters out generic grays and blacks to isolate the true brand palette. It then displays the visual palette with hex codes you can click to copy. Best of all, it automatically generates a tailwind.config.js snippet mapping these colors to primary, secondary, accent, and neutral variables, ready to be pasted directly into your Tailwind CSS project.

Why use Grab-Kit?

All our tools run entirely in your browser. This means your analysis is performed securely and instantly. It is completely free, requires no signup, and works flawlessly on both desktop and mobile devices. Note: Some heavily secured sites might block external fetching, but the tool works perfectly on 95% of public websites.
